Research Work (Laboratory of Informatics)

In the Laboratory of Informatics, research is carried out regarding: (a) Informatics, (b) the integration of Informatics in education in general and (c) the integration of Informatics specifically in early childhood education.

More specifically, there is published work:

  • By the Director of the Laboratory in cooperation with other researchers,
  • In the context of PhD dissertations supervised by the Director of the Laboratory,
  • In the context of the Program of post-graduate studies (e.g., publications from projects in postgraduate courses taught by the Director of the Laboratory),
  • In the context of the Department’s undergraduate studies (publications deriving from Diploma dissertations supervised by the Director of the Laboratory).

The specific book contains ten chapters organized in three parts:

  • Part I includes two chapters that analyze background knowledge concerning the subject of the book.  The first chapter is authored by the Assistant Professor Villy Tsakona and concerns the overall context of integrating stories in education. The second chapter is authored by the Director of the Laboratory and concerns the overall context of integrating ICT and digital stories in education.
  • Part II includes four chapters regarding the integration of digital stories in early childhood education. Teaching scenarios are presented that where worked in the context of the Department’s Programs of Studies.
  • Part III includes four chapters regarding the integration of digital stories in primary education. Teaching scenarios are presented that where worked in the context of the Department’s Program of Post-graduate Studies.
