The Internal Regulation of the Democritus University of Thrace was approved by the Senate of the University and published in the Government Gazette 4751/20-08-2024 (vol. B). It determine issues concerning the internal operation of the Institution. It includes, among others, provisions concerning the following:
- The organization of the study programs of all cycles (first, second and third), such as the examination and evaluation process of students, the degrees awarded, the oath-taking process, the conditions for participation in the examination periods,
- The rights and obligations of students, their advisory support, as well as special arrangements for students with disabilities or special educational needs.
- The evaluation of teaching by students, the terms and conditions for the placement examinations of graduates of other Departments, the recognition of credit units from other study programs.
- The operation of the Institution’s administrative bodies and services, the process of drafting annual reports, the awarding of honorary academic titles, as well as the rules of ritual and public relations.
- The operation of libraries, laboratories, clinics, museums and other research or academic units, the conditions for granting scholarships with social or academic criteria, security issues at the Institution, the organization and operation of collective and single-member bodies and committees.
- The selection and employment of adjunct lecturers, the awarding of titles of Emeritus and Honorary Professor, as well as issues of service status, selection, rights and obligations of staff members.
- The details of the formation and operation of the Committees provided for by law or the Institution itself are defined.
