Didactics in Visual Arts

The purpose of the course is to familiarize students with issues of Teaching Art Education in Kindergarten.
The course is experiential in nature. The aim is to acquire practical knowledge, practical skills and abilities, with the aim of personal and professional development.

The course moves along three axes:
The first axis is the structuring of a course and its design, organization and implementation. The importance of the interdisciplinary dimension in the implementation of teaching. Course design for the experiential approach to a work of art. Study of cultural programs implemented in kindergarten, with emphasis on the use of visual expression and works of art. History of art: Introduction to important artistic movements and artists, with emphasis on their educational value.
The second axis is the preschool child: Understanding the role of creative expression for his development. The evolution of perception, in relation to the language of drawing, its importance and role in the integration of personality. The children’s tracery as a means of expression, diagnosis and treatment of peculiarities. The psychotherapeutic dimension of the creative process, therapy through art.
The third axis is the student’s acquaintance with various types of painting techniques (stencil, oil pastel engraving, mixed techniques, etc.), as well as three-dimensional constructions (plastic with clay, dough or plasticine), as well as the utilization of useless and disposable materials (masks, dolls, constructions, etc.).
